WordPress.com 8.2.3.0

WordPress for desktop centralizes site management and content creation, enabling users to build and maintain blogs or websites without switching to a browser. The app combines theme selection, drafting tools, media management, analytics, and community features into a single desktop workflow.

• Theme selection: choose from a broad library of themes to establish a site’s look and feel.
• Content creation: compose posts, pages, stories, photo essays, and announcements with an editor geared toward mixed media.
• Media handling: add photos and video from a camera or local albums, or select from an in-app collection of free-to-use professional images.
• Site analytics: view real-time statistics with daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly insights to monitor activity.
• Notifications and engagement: receive alerts for comments, likes, and new followers, and reply to comments directly from the app.

Usability emphasizes straightforward publishing workflows and integrated media tools, reducing context switching for creators. The interface groups posts, pages, media, and stats to streamline routine tasks; comment and notification handling supports ongoing reader interaction without leaving the desktop environment.

Beyond site management, the app integrates the WordPress Reader to surface tagged topics, authors, and organizations. The Reader functions as a discovery layer for content curation and for following accounts and topics of interest within the WordPress community.
